DESCRIPTION:To celebrate Bike Month 2013\, we're inviting Mayor Ford to take a spin on our \n wheels for a day! The purpose of this challenge is to offer the Mayor a \n chance to experience the joys of cycling in the city\, learn more about some \n of the frustrations cyclists face and provide a platform for the community to \n discuss urban cycling issues. If you'd like to challenge the Mayor to take a \n spin please sign the official challenge here: \n https://www.change.org/petitions/challenge-mayor-ford-to-cycle-for-a-day Once \n we gather enough support we'll connect with the Mayor's office to design a \n cycling route for his daily activities within the city's core. If this isn't \n possible\, we'll propose a route for him to give cycling a try - possibly \n Queen's Park to City Hall. We also invite all other new cyclists in the city \n to join the Mayor in experiencing all the benefits of recreational and \n commuting cycling! Join the Facebook page to keep up to date: \n www.facebook.com/RobFordRidestheCity Catch us on Twitter: @MayorFordCycles \n Learn more about the Challenge organizer \n here: http://urbanbandit.ca/2013/02/11/my-cycling-story/ *Please note that \n this campaign aims to be completely respectful and is an honest attempt to \n offer the Mayor an opportunity to experience urban cycling. DESCRIPTION:Yonge Street\, Toronto’s grand main street\, has long been a key Toronto \n destination for retail\, tourism and events. However\, conditions such as \n increased traffic congestion poses a barrier to to cycling safely on Yonge. \n At a neighbourhood level\, activities that people throughout the world use \n bicycles for – errands\, stopping for coffee\, cycling to school - can become \n dangerous. Yonge Street should function well for all of its citizens using \n all modes of transportation. As an initial step towards a revisioning of \n Yonge Street to facilitate a community conversation that will result in a \n comprehensive high level gap analysis. We’ll be reviewing the whole of \n Yonge Street in Toronto - from Steeles to Lake Ontario – beginning a vision \n that could see Yonge transformed into a more complete neighbourhood street \n that enhances and gives life to its communities with benefits for all Toronto \n residents. This initiative represents a unique collaboration between \n Councillor Matlow's office and Cycle Toronto's ward advocacy program.    \n Yonge Street users - cyclists\, BIA's\, pedestrians -  City Councillors\, and \n  Cycle Toronto ward advocacy groups in the corridor are invited to \n participate in this workshop.\n ....
