Welcome adventurers! to BikesandTransit.com‘s new 2011 travel blog BikesandTransit Travel. Over the summer, founder Donald Wiedman will be riding and mapping six new routes for the website, and blogging about those rides.
Location:
In and around the Greater Golden Horseshoe - from Toronto, to Durham, to Burlington, Hamilton, Niagara... and beyond!
On Sunday, June 5, 2011, gear up for an exhilarating experience – riding to help Canadians live longer lives – in the 24th annual Becel Heart&Stroke Ride for Heart. Feel the energy as you raise funds for crucial heart and stroke research, while seizing the only chance to ride traffic-free along the DVP and Gardiner Expressway.
The public is invited to attend an open house to learn more about the rush-hour sharrow pilot project on College street. An overview presentation will be given shortly after 6 p.m., followed by an opportunity to review information materials and speak directly with city staff and project partners. The meeting will review the findings in the College Street Evaluation - Report, and the future use of rush hour sharrows on Toronto's streets will be discussed.
