Date:
Tuesday, May 8, 2012 - 18:30 - 21:00

In partnership with the Lakeshore Planning Council and the Toronto Cyclist Union, the South Etobicoke Cycling Committee will be holding a meeting on developing Heritage bike rides. We envision 90 minute bike rides led by local cycling enthusiasts with input by local historians. They will be like the Heritage Toronto walks, only on bike. Already the president of the Long Branch Historical Society has agreed to attend.

Ideally our first ride will be on June 2 during Bike Month and will be the first of many rides throughout the city this summer. There is already a Tour de forts heritage ride on June 9 and other wards have expressed interest.

This meeting will finalize the details of our first ride. What is the route? Where will we meet? What points of interest will we emphasize? We will also look at future rides in South Etobicoke.

The meeting is open to anyone interested in bicycling and history. We would be especially interested in those who have an interest and expertise in leading bike rides.

For those riding to the meeting, LAMP is located at 5th St on the Birmingham Bike Lane.
