Race for Dignity Challenge
On Saturday, June 5, 2010, thousands of people will make their way through Yonge-Dundas square, Canada’s busiest intersection. There, they will come across hundreds of people spinning to save lives in Africa, part of Dignitas International’s flagship event, the Race for Dignity Challenge.
A fundraising spin-a-thon on stationary bikes with live onstage entertainment, last year the Race for Dignity Challenge raised close to $270,000 for people affected by HIV/AIDS in Malawi, Africa. Our goal for this year is $300,000. And with the support of people like you, we are confident we’ll make it!
Dignitas International is a Canadian-based international medical humanitarian organization with a singular focus: to maximize access to AIDS-related treatment and prevention through the widespread adoption of community-based care in the developing world. Each month, Dignitas - co-founded by Dr. James Orbinski and James Fraser - starts hundreds of patients of life-saving medications and reaches thousands of people with HIV prevention knowledge.
